- Overland-Trails.
Devoted to discussions concerning the history, preservation, and
promotion of
the Oregon, California, Sante Fe, and other historic trails in the
Western USA. This list is sponsored by the Oregon-California Trails
Association (OCTA) which is dedicated to the preservation, education
and appreciation of the 19th Century emigrant trails. OCTA
has conducted a comprehensive survey of emigrant documents (e.g.,
letters, diaries, journals) and compiled the names found in
these documents in a database that can be searched for individual names
(by SOUNDEX). Searches can not be done on-line and
there is a fee for the service. Information on the database is
