  33. MCF-ROOTS. A mailing list (Maryland Catholics on the Frontier) for the discussion of descendants of Maryland Catholics who migrated first to Kentucky and then to other parts of the frontier. This was a planned migration and the first group left Maryland in 1785 with others following for the next 10 years or so. Many of the surnames are so intertwined that it is impossible to separate them and the families can be researched as one great big family, especially in Maryland and Kentucky.   43. Overland-Trails. Devoted to discussions concerning the history, preservation, and promotion of the Oregon, California, Sante Fe, and other historic trails in the Western USA. This list is sponsored by the Oregon-California Trails Association (OCTA) which is dedicated to the preservation, education and appreciation of the 19th Century emigrant trails. OCTA has conducted a comprehensive survey of emigrant documents (e.g., letters, diaries, journals) and compiled the names found in these documents in a database that can be searched for individual names (by SOUNDEX).   77. WDC-GenWeb. A read-only mailing list for those interested in the World Descendant Charts (WDC) Genealogy Web Project. The WDC specializes in Virginia and West Virginia families and posts descendant charts received from contributors on the WDC GenWeb Project Home Page. When a new chart is posted, subscribers to the mailing list will be notified by the server. This notification will have the name of the descendant chart as the subject and will include the URL for the chart and a list of all surnames contained in the chart. Additional information on the list will be provided in the Welcome message you receive when you subscribe. To subscribe send email to wdc-genweb-request@rootsweb.com with your name in the Subject field and "subscribe" in the body.
