  46. FreeBMD-Admins. A mailing list for discussing, implementing, developing and organising the FreeBMD project. FreeBMD stands for Free Births, Marriages, and Deaths. The objective of the FreeBMD Project is to provide free Internet access to the Civil Registration index information for England and Wales that is greater than 100 years old. More recent data will be accepted but will be stored until we are able to publish it, either because it is 100 years old or because the Office for National Statistics (ONS) gives us wider permissions. FreeBMD is a very new project with significantly less then one percent of the records in the database, so you should not expect to find your relatives in the database at this time.
