D. H. Hancock, Jr., wife and two children, spent a part
of the Christmas
holidays with Keyteville friends and relatives. Dave
is an old Keytesville
boy, but is now a prominent and successful Higginsville,
Mo. merchant.
He had not been here for five years, and it is needless
to say, was much
surprised at the substantial growth that old home of
his youth had
made in that time.
The case of Mrs. Emma Price et al against D. A. Hallett
has been affirmed
by the supreme court. This suit involved title to 80
aces and clajmed
by both the defendant and plaintiff. The acres are situated
on an island in
the Missouri river some eight or 10 miles southwest of
Keytesville.
Hallett won the case in our circuit court in 1893 and
the plaintiffs took
an appeal to the supreme court, but the higher tribunal
affirmed the
decision of the lower court.
