BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS

               

The birth and death records from 1883-1888 are available at the Linn County Clerk’s Office.  The address is Peggy Ward, Linn County Clerk, P.O. Box 92, Linneus, MO  64653.

 

                The birth and death records after 1910 are available at the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Jefferson City, MO  65101.

 

MARRIAGE RECORDS

               

The marriage records from 1842 to the present time are available at the Linn County Recorders office.  The address is Loretta Brookshier, Recorder of Deeds, P.O. Box 151, Linneus, MO  64653.

 

                To get a copy out of the books that come apart, it will cost $1.00 per copy.  Certified copies are $9.00 each as set by the State of Missouri.  Some old books do not come apart so copies can not be made from them.

 

DEED RECORDS

               

The Recorder’s Office is not staffed to search land records.  You can write Audrey Stigall, 142 Short Drive, Brookfield, MO  64628.

 

                The Recorder’s Office can copy deed records only if the book comes apart and you give a specific book or page number.

 

COURT RECORDS and WILLS

               

For information on court records, and wills, you can write to Shannon Murrell, Linn County Probate Clerk, P.O. Box 84, Linneus, MO  64653.

CEMETERIES

               

For information on cemeteries you can contact the Brookfield or Marceline Library.  The Linn County Recorder’s Office has 8 cemetery books on hand.
