Marceline Church of Christ (Christian) was organized March 20, 1960. Their new building on Missouri Ave. and Howell was dedicated Easter Sunday 1965 with guest speaker Albert Hamilton, missionary on leave from So. Africa. Gerald Peterson, student at Ozark Bible College, Joplin, Missouri was the first Minister.
The Church is a mission-minded church having helped to train young ministers from Moberly Central Christian College, Moberly, Missouri over the years. Twelve have gotten their start here in the Marceline Church, 2 stayed for 4 years each, others for 2 or 3 years and then moved on to larger congregations. Although we are a small church we are currently helping support 3 missionaries on foreign fields as well as being forwarding church for the funds to be banked and sent on to another. The doors are always open to those who need to come in and worship the Lord according to the New Testament Way. “Whosoever Will May Come.” |
