Searching for information on my great-grandfather, Issac Lane HARVEY. Born June 21, 1852 in Miami County, Ohio, son of Henry HARVEY and Rachel HAYHURST. Married September 9, 1875 in Champaign County, Ohio to my great-grandmother, Mary SLUSSER. She was born March 3, 1857 and died March 17, 1910. One child, Eugene HARVEY, born May 20, 1877. On Nov. 15, 1878, a divorce was granted Mary, and Issac was enjoined from having anything to do with Mary and Eugene from that time on. To my knowledge, he never returned to Ohio. Along about this time, Issac relocated to Harrison County, Missouri where his older brother, Jerimiah HARVEY, lived. On April 13, 1879, Issac Lane married Sarah Jane FOSTER in Harrison County, Missouri. Together they had the following children: Mary E., Amos L., Rachel, Hattie M., and Samuel M. Sarah Jane died on Feb. 14, 1925 and Issac Lane died on Aug. 13, 1935. Both buried in Antioch Cemetery in Sherman Township.

Searching for Robert Lafayette (Fate) PARKER. Fate moved to Bethany Township in Harrison County, Missouri around 1874. He was convicted of burning John Adams barn to the ground. He was determined he wasn't going to do hard time for something that he didn't do. I have his criminal action papers and it states that he was nowhere to be found in the County of Wilkes or in the state of NC. We know that he left his wife Sarah Ann ROBERSON PARKER and his three small daughters in Wilkes County, NC when he fled. We think that he came back to visit because his wife had two more children after he left. Either he visited or these children belonged to another man. We have a photograph of Fate all dressed up in a suit with Bethany, Missouri written on the back of the photograph. This is why I think that he was in Bethany Township. The story also was told by my grandmother that her father (grandfather) rode off on a horse and never came back home again. I found a Martha Parker on the federal cencus in Bethany Township in the year 1870. I hope there is a connection there. Anyone have any help or ideas?

Albert Eldro LISTON, wife Sarah and two children, Minnie and Hart were found on the Madison Twp, Harrison County 1880 census. They live next door to James PARISH, whom family insists is related to Sarah, but I cannot find any connection. Sarah has two daughters by a previous marriage who are not with her in this census. Their first names were Julia and Mary and they were born in the early 1860's. Marriage records and census have been found in IL which prove Sarah's maiden name was FREDERICK. Another marriage record was found between Sarah FREDERICK and T. J. "Jeff" WILLIAMS. So Julia and Mary may have gone by either of the three names. Does anyone know what happened to these two girls? On a later census in Oklahoma, Sarah indicates all her children are still living but one, and we can account for that one, born after Hart, possibly died while still in MO. Mary is said to have married someone by the name of GARNERTSFELDER, born in 1861, and ended up in Michigan, but I've yet to find this name anywhere. Family also states Albert was an ordained minister, but I have found no proof of this. Any piece of the puzzle would be appreciated. --Ilene Jones, Bartlesville, OK

I am interested in ancestors of the WINNINGHAM surname. John and Sharp WINNINGHAM were early settlers in Harrison County, settling at or before 1840 by Bethany. Several books of Harrison county are at odds as to who were the parents of the 7 WINNINGHAM children; Sharp WINNINGHAM AND Malinda MILLER have been listed, and John WINNINGHAM and Melinda BOYD have been mentioned. The children were Julia, b. 1834 (Ray County), Charles b. 1838, Mary Jane b. 1840, Isom b. 1844 (Harrison County), Sharp b. 1844, Frances M. b. 1846, and Sarah E. b. 1849. There may have been an 8th child, Unity, b. 1836 in Ray County. The father of these children, whichever of the 2 was indeed the father, left in 1849 for the California gold fields, and made several trips there, but was killed on return to Missouri on his last journey. There are some records of one of the children, Francis M. Winningham, who became a prominent physician in Harrison County, and of the son of Isom Winningham, William Henry Winningham b. 1861, who also became a physician in Harrison County. Another of the children, Mary Jane Winningham, married Dr. Flanary Newton BURGWIN b.1837, who was a practicing physician in Harrison County. I am interested in any information on any of the Winningham family members.
