I am researching Levi ROACH (born 1834-5, OH) who married Sarah E. WINDSOR. Levi was the son of Reuben ROACH and brother to Ezra, Eli, and Emory. He bought land in Harrison County, MO, on 6 May 1859 which is located in Township 67 Section 34 which is adjacent to the Iowa state line in Lincoln Township.

I can't find Levi or Reuben in the 1860 census even though much of the family was in Harrison County, MO, but he is still listed as owner in an 1876 plat map.

Levi died about July 1903 and according to the Index to Estates, Harrison County Courthouse, administration of his estate was refused, but I do not know who refused it. I came up empty on a reference to Book 13, page 162. Any ideas? Also, where was he buried?

I am also researching Joseph McVEY, son of James, brother to William and James Jr. Joseph moved to Harrison County, MO, about 1875-77. His son, Reason married Mary MATHEWS or MATTHEWS in Oct 1876 and his daughter, Millie, married Oliver J. POE. His other daughter, Clara J., married Jesse HUNT.

Joseph died in 1882 and was buried in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Washington Township, Harrison County, MO. On a recent trip in June I was able to locate the Cemetery but not his marker. At that time I did not have the married names of his daughters, but now have found that Millie & Oliver POE are also buried there. I would like to find out what part of the cemetery they are in for future reference. Can anyone help?

During a visit to Bethany several years ago, I was looking for a possible obituary of my gr,gr grandfather William DODD of Mt. Moriah, Mercer Co, died 1906. Although Mt. Moriah is over the line in Mercer, I thought it was possible that his obit would be published in the newspaper there since Bethany is closer. We were told that some years back somebody, either from the state historical society or the university, had microfilmed the newspapers there and since they were in terrible condition, they could not allow us to search them. Does anyone know who could have microfilmed these newspapers so we might be able to search for this obituary?

All of my ancestral families settled in Harrison County from the mid-1850s to about 1870. They include SHEETS, SHIRLEY, DALE, Leander JONES, James ANDERSON, MILLIGAN, LINTHACUM, McCOLLUM, WALTON, BRINIGAR, and BANDY. Collateral lines are extensive; the ones in which I'm currently most interested include BOWLES, WILCOXSON, SMITH, GRAHAM, COCHRAN, CANADAY, TURNER, and SLATTEN just to name a few. If you have family who settled in the Eagleville/Blythedale area prior to 1900, the odds are high they connect with my families somewhere. I'm always looking for new cousins!

William Alfred DANIEL and his brother Andrew Jackson DANIEL both enlisted in the 23rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry on 3 Aug 1861. I have William Daniel's discharge papers and have seen his and Andrew Jackson's names in the 1890 Civil War Veterans census. I have been told that their brother, James Ross DANIEL, was also a Civil War Veteran but did not see his name in the 1890 census for Missouri. Wiliam and Andrew were both living in Butler Township, Harrison County when they enlisted. I would appreciate help in confirming James Ross DANIEL's service and knowing which regiment he served in.

Researching the Greenberry WHEELER family b. 1824 Kent Co. Delaware m. Elizabeth COLE b. 1835 Illinois. I know this family is somehow connected to the PLYMELL family but not sure of how. The 1880 Harrison Co. Mo. census lists the John H. Plymell family immediately after the Greenberry Wheeler family so I believe they were neighbors but I also believe the connection is more than that. There was supposed to have been a Wheeler girl named Mary Christmas Wheeler but I haven't seen her in the census. However, John Plymell's wife is listed as Mary C. and her parents were from Delaware and Illinois. Is this my Mary Christmas Wheeler? Can anyone tell me how to confirm my suspicion?
