Surname: DALE, WOLCOTT/WOOLCOTT
Submitter: Rhonda Herndon ozcomoh@webound.com
Date: Feb 18, 2007
I am looking for the parents of Sarah J. WOLCOTT/WOOLCOTT DALE born in 1817 in KY. She married Edward DALE in KY. They came to Harrison Co. MO in the 1850's. They are buried in the Logsdon Cem.
Looking for info on my great grandmother Sarah Ann (Fallis) Holmes. She is simply my brickwall and I would love to find more on her.
Sarah Ann Fallis, b ca 1844 in IN; death date and place unknown.
She was daughter of Robert Lee Fallis, b 23 Apr 1820, KY; d 15 Sept 1895, New Hampton, Harrison County, MO, and Mary Jane Reed, b 20 June 1820, KY; d 2 May 1858, Harrison County, MO.
Sarah Ann was second wife to Paul Holmes whom she married 2 Aug 1862, Mercer County, MO. Paul was b 23 Oct 1815, TN; d 16 March 1885 in Harrison County, MO.
The 1880 census for Harrison County, MO, lists Sarah Ann Holmes as divorced with four children. The 1885 death record for Paul Holmes lists him as a widower.
Cannot find a death record for Sarah nor a divorce record. Another puzzle is whether they were divorced or not.
Thank you

Shadrack and Phebia ROBERTSON are my ggg-grandparents. Their son Joseph (my gg-grandfather) married Mary Elizabeth HOLLAND around 1868. Mary was the daughter of John HOLLAND and Margaret SPEER, both of whom are buried in Chase County, Kansas. Joseph and Mary ROBINSON moved to Chase County, Kansas after 1876 and prior to 1880, where the last name morphed to ROBERTSON. I'd love to correspond with you about the family. Margaret's parents were Jacob SPEAR and Nancy HOBBS. I'd love to correspond with anyone who has or needs information on any of those families. I have a scanned image that I'll be happy to share of a studio portrait of Margaret, Mary Elizabeth, Mary Eizabeth's daughter Joe Anna (my great-grandmother, who went by the name of Anna), and Anna's daughter Maud (my grand-aunt) taken around 1904.
Surname: SMITH

Is anyone researching the family of Peter SMITH born in Ohio (occupation saw milling in 1860) of Harrison County? Wife Sarah born in Ohio, later to marry Dunham SMITH (believed to be the brother of Peter). At least that is what I am trying to find out. Children listed in 1860 Indiana census: Maria, 13 ; George 11; Castrain 10 (female, but unable to read the census writing for correct spelling); Mary 8; Abeah 6; and Juanna 3. All children born in Indiana all except George are females, and the names are strange to me so do not know how they should be spelled but spelled the best I could determine from the 1860 census. Would appreciate any and all help determining and finding this family. Thank you. Margaret in Arkansas.

I am looking for any of my father's ancestors. His name was Charles Harrison TRACY, born 9 February 1915 in Melbourne, Sugar Creek Township, Harrison County, and was raised there until the family moved to Nebraska before the US Census was taken in 1930. His first marriage was in Harrison County, circa 1944 to Juanita Layson. After that he married 4 different times, and had a total of 4 children. He died in Eugene, Oregon in December of 1997. His father's name was Walter Guy TRACY, and his mother's name was Delitha Elizabeth PAYNE. Delitha was born 12 January 1890 and raised in Harrison County, while Guy originally came from Iowa. Delitha's parents were Sarah Jane COLLIER and John (Wesley? Monroe?) PAYNE. Sarah's parents were John and Sarah Elizabeth (SLOVER) COLLIER, and are buried at Pine Cemetery. Any information you could provide about my dad's children (other than me, of course!) and/or his kin would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
