I am wanting any information on Sarah Jane (DONALDSON) SMITH ADAMS, who was the dau. of Abraham and Sarah DONALDSON.
There were three boys and 4 girls born to Abraham and Sarah DONALDSON: David; Samuel, who married Margaret Mildred ROOK, in Mercer Co.; Calvin, who married Henrietta ADAMS in Mercer Co.; Mary; Martha; Rachel; and Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane, b. 1851, m.1st Hiram SMITH in Ashland Co., Ohio in 1870. One dau., Icy A., was b. 1871. Sarah Jane married 2nd John Quincy ADAMS in Mercer Co.,Mo. about 1876, and is buried with him in the Wilder Cem. in Mercer Co. John Q. ADAMS was b. 1819. He was 32 years older than Sarah. Don't know if he was married before, but they had two children: Lula May, b. July 28, 1878, and James Monroe, b. Aug. 14, 1882, both in Mercer, Mercer Co., Mo. I think they are also buried in Wilder Cem. in Mercer Co., Mo. I would appreciate any info from any grandchildren or decendants on any of the above children.
Thanks, Ramon L. Wright

I am seeking information on my my great-great-grandfather, Ambrose DAY, and family. I know that they settled in Mercer County in about 1842/3 and were in Morgan Township. Would like to know if there is a way to obtain an obituary on Ambrose and/or his wife Catherine. Ambrose died March 4 1889 and is buried in the Underwood Cemetery near Princeton. Catherine died July 6 1909 in Oklahoma.
How would I find out if Ambrose had a will?
Thank you. Janice Stratman

I am seeking information about my MACRAE great-grandparents, John and
Catherine, who lived in Ravanna, Mercer County, from about 1870 to about
1888.
Three of their children are buried in the cemetery at Ravanna:
John Charles, William G., and Lewis H MacRae, all of whom died in
1875.
Their other children were Duncan, Katherine, Franklin, Alfred
Burnett (our grandfather),Tolbert, and 3 others whose names we do not
know.
We think that John MACRAE died in about 1888 in Ravanna and would
be grateful for any record that might confirm this - perhaps a newspaper
article? And for any other information anyone might have about this
family.
Thank you!

Date: Nov 20, 2007
Per the 1870 Census, I have found my WHALEY, James H., and wife Sarah M., and family.
They are in Madison Township, Mercer County. The city is listed as Goshen.
Per 1880 Census, this same WHALEY, James H. family is living in Mercer County but in
Washington Township. No city listed. Is there a way to find out what city from the E.D. # 232
that is listed on the census form??
Also, does anyone have any information on this family they would share with me? The children of James & Sarah were:
John B.
George A.
Buena Vista (my great grandmother)
Edwin W.
Martha F.
Virginia F.
Ada May
Victor J.
Annie E.
Hattie A.
Charles H.
Thanks for any help you may offer.
